We are Bloomfield United Church — a congregation of the United Church of Canada that has been serving the people of Bloomfield and Prince Edward County for more than two hundred years. Our roots stretch back to 1823 when circuit preacher Rev. Anson Green first brought Methodist teachings to this small Ontario village, planting seeds of faith that continue to flourish today.
We are a progressive, inclusive community of faith that welcomes people of all backgrounds, identities, orientations, and walks of life. Consistent with the values of the United Church of Canada, we believe that all people are made in the image of God and deserve to worship, belong, and serve in a safe and affirming community.
At Bloomfield United Church, you don't need to have everything figured out. Questions are welcome. Doubts are honoured. And every single person who walks through our doors is greeted with warmth and genuine care.
To transform lives through authentic worship, to nurture lasting community through compassionate fellowship, and to build a more just and caring world through faithful service — in Bloomfield, Prince Edward County, and beyond.
We envision a Bloomfield United Church that is fully alive to the needs of the present — a vibrant, intergenerational community where ancient wisdom and contemporary questions meet, where all are seen, valued, and sent out to make a difference.
Five commitments guide our life together as a congregation and our engagement with the wider community.
We believe no one should face life alone. We build bonds of genuine friendship and mutual support that extend far beyond Sunday morning.
All are welcome here — regardless of background, belief, age, ability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. We mean it: every single person belongs.
Faith expressed through action. We serve our neighbours through community outreach, food security initiatives, pastoral care, and local partnerships.
Grounded in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, we embody a living, questioning, evolving faith that honours both tradition and transformation.
We are called to work toward a more just world. We advocate for the vulnerable, champion environmental stewardship, and support the dignity of all people.
Our congregation is guided by a dedicated team of ministers and lay leaders committed to serving our community with compassion and integrity.
